Transition Stratford has included a commitment to social justice in its aims, alongside responding to climate change and peak oil. While we want to encourage local resilience, this does not mean turning our backs on the wider world.
Transition Stratford has been supporting work by Practical Action to raise awareness of the impact of climate change in developing countries and of Practical Action’s work with communities which are already facing the challenges of climate change.
If you are concerned about how climate change is affecting poorer countries abroad, or if you want to know how you can help with local activities to support communities in the developing world through Practical Action’s work, contact Transition Stratford on 01789 298503.
Transition Stratford is also supporting Fairtrade initiatives locally, working with Fairtrade Stratford. Fairtrade seeks to ensure overseas producers get a fair deal for the goods they provide for this country.
