With a community garden, you don’t have your own plot of land but garden with others, sharing the work and sharing the produce.
Supporters of Transition Stratford are developing a community garden at the Lifeways Centre in Albany Road, Stratford upon Avon. They meet on Sunday afternoons to work together on the garden. Recently, community chickens have been added to the mix!
A community garden might be a suitable option for you if:
- You don’t have much experience in gardening – you can work alongside others and learn from them
- You don’t have your own tools and might find it difficult to get some – the community garden has a stock of tools that are shared
- You cannot guarantee your time – if you have to miss a weekend or two, others will be at the garden and will keep it going.
